A few years ago I started "Married For Life" Facebook Group and it is has grown to almost 300 members (296 to be exact). I had taken a break back in 2011 until 2012 and felt the LORD pulling me back to it aggressively last year and clearly I understand why. The sacred covenant of Marriage is being torn apart with the legalization of same-sex marriages. Marriage and the family structure are being redefined by man.
Marriage is the union of one man and one woman according to God, Our Creator's design. There is no evidence in the bible that states otherwise. Rather there are countless scriptures both in Old Testament (Genesis) and the New Testament that confirms the relationship and it's function. I wont' get into this now but will at another time.
Today many have succumb to the pressures, hardships and challenges a marriage faces and are contemplating separation or divorce. The statistics of divorce among Christian marriages are staggering. We know that the enemy has been the divider in relationships from the beginning of time starting with Adam and Eve. He lured them with lust to have something that was forbidden and he continues to do the same as many are falling prey to adultery. That is the MAIN cause for many getting divorce, yet not the only one.
In this blog, my desire is to dig up what many have buried - issues that are not spoken about; to challenge you to be the best wife and husband and stay committed. Resources will be posted that will further assist you in growing and maintaining a healthy relationship.
I am not a licensed marriage counselor but however what qualifies me to share are my life experiences: the good, the bad and the ugly. Understand that what I post, I speak from a place of knowing: been there, done that and didn't even get a t-shirt. You will notice that I am very transparent and a little straight forward. Therefore, if my "putting it out there" or testifying of my failures will help one marriage to remain "Married For Life" it would all be worth it!
Please let's not get it twisted - ALL marriages have struggles, to include mine! But thank God for His grace that enables us to overcome so that we also bring Him honor and glory in our marriages.
Each day I am learning valuable lessons and I hope that you will join me here so we can share and learn together! Amen?
